FRIDAY FANCIES

I just received an email regarding a work related picture tomorrow.  My first thought was "I HATE my photos" and the next facebook post I saw was this:

Should I buy these Sam Edelman shoes even if I probably cannot walk in them?  I could sit and cross my legs, exit out of cars, etc:
Lets file these under the ever growing list of "If I was young, tall and thin":

EXCITING NEWS

Hello fashionistas!  I was in Chicago (I KNOW..hahaha, nothing new about that) early last week.  While browsing the makeup counters at Nordstroms  on Michigan Avenue in search of a new foundation, I learned some valuable information I could not wait to share with all of you.  I had read wonderful reviews of the Armani Luminous Silk Foundation.  My plan was to be color matched and sent home with a sample to try out for a few days.  Unfortunately there was no specialist at the Armani counter.  The next day I was at the Oak Brook Nordstroms and again the same experience.  It is Nordstroms,  so OF COURSE there are many helpful sales associates but I wanted someone with specific knowledge of the Armani product line.

I eventually spoke with a manager about my frustrations and she shared with me........amazing news......the Nordstrom makeup department has beauty specialists for who do not work with a specific brand.  The woman who helped me at the Oak Brook store was fabulous.  We spoke for a bit about my skin (dry and sensitive, sporadic redness) as well as my preferred price range.  She then pulled products from Laura Mercier, Chanel and Nars.

I don't know about you but its been my experience if I go to the Bobbi Brown counter, they always recommend only Bobbi Brown products, same with Nars, Clarins etc...  I have always wondered how do I know what really is the best products/colors for me?

You can meet with a Nordstroms beauty specialist at no charge and receive honest advice on makeup and skincare.  I was fortunate enough to be there on a weekday morning when she had some free time but an appointment is suggested.

To find out what she recommended and what I purchased...you will have to read upcoming posts for the full scoop.

FRIDAY FANCIES- HOME EDITION

Lets take a new spin today on Friday Fancies and look at some cute home items:

The PERFECT chair..for reading, for napping, for just about anything you want to do:
The Graham Glider from West Elm.  I own this chair and cannot say enough good things about it.

I love bar carts, must be that Mad Man influence.
The Sedgewick from Society Social (above) is sold out the moment the site restocks it.  For a less expensive but still fab one, this bar cart from Target's Threshold Collection is amazing:

I collect champagne flutes and think these gold bubble ones need to be part of my collection:

No surprise they are from  Anthropologie.

OSCARS 2014

Some of my own personal thoughts on Oscar Fashions 2014:
LOVED Sandra Bullocks curls

This is how you attend an awards show in maternity wear, thank you Olivia Wilde

How does Kate Hudson look like this after having 2 children?

How beautiful is her COMPLETE look?

Did you watch the Red Carpet?  What were your hits and misses?  I always laugh at the fact that as I watch various award shows, I am in a small town in Indiana, with no makeup on and most likely wearing old yoga pants judging attendees fashion. who are in designer clothing, at a international event and ...I am judging them??? ..oh well isn't that what some of us do best???????  HAHAHAHAHA

HAPPY TUESDAY!
